Calling my friends and loved ones to tell them how I feel about them has always been a problem for me.

I talk to myself about how I feel, but voicing it out becomes the problem.

There was a time when a friend of mine was celebrating her birthday, and there was a lot I wanted to tell her.

I remember vividly that I practiced what to tell her for close to 2 hours. When I finally called her, I couldn’t tell her everything I had practiced. I just told her ‘Happy Birthday’ after the normal greetings.

The call only lasted for 30 seconds. After that incident, I recoiled from calls and started sending text messages instead. Although, the messages are not always enough because not everyone likes reading long messages.

On the 13th of February, I came across a flyer on my friend’s status on WhatsApp that reads, “Make someone feel special this Valentine’s Day by booking a call for them.”

I was curious and wanted to know more, so I clicked the link and was redirected to a website. I decided to give it a try and booked a call for my mum. I was asked to fill out a short form, which I did. All this took less than 5 minutes, and I was done.

I reached out immediately to book a call. While filling out the form, I got to the part where I was asked to write what I wanted to tell him personally. I decided to keep it short as it might be limited, but then, I got carried away and I wrote everything I wanted to write.

On June 6th, the feedback from the call was sent to me, and I was smiling widely while listening to the playback of the recording. I could feel the excitement, the joy, and happiness from my dad’s voice, and it made me happy.

My Dad called later to tell me how the call made his day bright. Whenever he remembers the call, his face lights up.
